Neurohospitalist

Piedmont Medical Center offers Inpatient Neurology consultation for the evaluation and treatment of adults with neurological conditions. The capabilities of Piedmont Medical Center's in-house, board- certified neurologists are supported by Piedmont Neuroscience Institute, whose clinicians provide coverage for inpatient neurology consults and emergent care, including stroke care. The group's neurologists are fellowship-trained subspecialists in such areas as Stroke, Neurocritical care, Epilepsy and Neurophysiology, giving patients access to a unique depth and breadth of neurological expertise, close to home.

Inpatient Neurologists are sometimes referred to as Neuro-Hospitalists. These medical providers are best defined as “facility-based” subspecialists whom provides neurological care to admitted patients, as well as patients undergoing evaluation in the emergency department.
