People with chronic and non-healing wounds can find relief at Piedmont Wound Care Center. Our multi-disciplinary, outpatient facility brings together several specialties for patients experiencing the discomfort of a wound that has taken months to heal. Your personal physician will get regular updates about the progress of your wound and your healing outcomes.

Who is a candidate?

The Piedmont Wound Care Center treats a variety of types of wounds. Some of the most common are:

  • Ulcers (diabetic, venous stasis, arterial, pressure)
  • Post-surgical wounds
  • Wounds unhealed within four to eight weeks

Our team includes:

  • Physicians with training in wound management
  • Nursing staff trained in the care of chronic wounds
  • Nurse case managers to coordinate your wound-related needs
  • Office staff to assist with scheduling insurance and referrals

Your Treatment Program

We will examine you to determine the type and cause of your wound. Once the exam is complete, we’ll tailor a treatment plan for your needs. The plan may include infection, disease and pain management, as well as vascular, laboratory and radiology tests. We also provide wound debridement, education about diabetes and nutrition, and recommend physical therapy when appropriate.

During your treatment, you’ll visit the center regularly for care. We’ll also teach you how to care for you would at home and to take the steps that may protect it from further complications.

It’s important to recognize that you play the most important role in your healing process. Keeping appointments and following directions are critical to healing.
