Piedmont Medical Center is proud to honor the skill and resilience of its nursing staff in recognition of National Nurses Week (May 6-12).

During its celebration of the annual national observance, the hospital has chosen as its message to its nurses, “Thank You for Being Pillars of Strength.” 

“Our nurses are pillars of strength to everyone who works within the Piedmont Medical Center Market – respected colleagues whom we look up to and depend upon,” said Teresa Urquhart, Market CEO for Piedmont Medical Center. “They inspire us every day by the way they gracefully balance their medical knowledge and expertise with compassion and empathy.”

Market CNO, Mohammad Aslam added, “They are also pillars of strength to our patients – serving as their trusted advocates, seamlessly coordinating their care, and supporting them emotionally through some of the most challenging and stressful times they may ever face. Our nurses’ skill and kindness are often the strongest and most enduring impression our patients have of our hospital – and of the care we provide.”

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually to coincide with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, on May 12.
