Piedmont Women’s Center--Pediatrics
If your child has to be hospitalized, Piedmont Women’s Center provides a comforting, child-friendly environment in its new Pediatrics Unit. Staffed by nurses specially trained in pediatrics, the unit serves newborns to children age 16.
Each of the 12 spacious private rooms features a:
· Brightly colored jungle theme
· TV/VCR
· Built-in sleeper sofa large enough for a family member
· Modem access for your laptop computer
Because we want each child’s room to be a safe haven for him or her, we have two special rooms where we take children for procedures, such as starting IVs. When appropriate, we transport kids in a red wagon to make them feel more at home.
And there are other touches to make our Pediatrics Unit kid-friendly--a lowered nurses station so that children can see over it and a treasure chest from which each child selects a toy to keep during the hospital stay and take home.
