Piedmont opens mammography site in Fort Mill

Piedmont Medical Center has opened an office in Fort Mill that provides screening mammography services to area women.

Fort Mill Mammography is located at 1674 W. Highway 160 in the Fort Mill Professional Park. It operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Fort Mill Mammography is dedicated to providing quality customer service,” said Wilma Jenkins, Piedmont’s director of imaging services. “When getting mammograms is convenient, it’s harder for women to come up with excuses for avoiding them.”

The American Cancer Society recommends that women begin getting regular mammograms at age 40 if they’re at average risk. Women at higher risk may want to start screening earlier. Studies show that, on average, women are being diagnosed with smaller tumors now than in past decades thanks in large part to earlier detection by mammograms.

 Other locations

In addition to Fort Mill Mammography, Piedmont operates Piedmont East Diagnostic Center near Manchester Village in Rock Hill, which also offers screening mammography and Piedmont Women’s Diagnostic Center next to Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. The Women’s Diagnostic Center offers diagnostic mammography as well as screening. Both of those sites operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  To make an appointment at any of the three locations, call (803) 329-6878 and press 1.
