The national Society of Chest Pain Centers has granted Piedmont national accreditation as a Chest Pain Center with a special designation (“PCI”) recognizing our ability to take interventional steps. Piedmont is only the third hospital in South Carolina to receive the PCI designation.

Piedmont’s Heart and Vascular Center includes three cardiac catheterization laboratories where angioplasty and stenting are performed, two operating rooms devoted to open heart surgery, a 20-bed cardiovascular telemetry unit for monitoring patients, an eight-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit, and a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program.
